    This month’s athlete spotlight is proudly dedicated to Jeff Fisher! Jeff became a valued member of MP CrossFit shortly after showcasing his remarkable talents at the Festivus Games approximately a year ago. As a former Hyrox World Champion in the 60+ age category, Jeff’s achievements continue to inspire everyone around him. Known for his seemingly limitless energy, Jeff truly embodies the spirit of the Energizer Bunny, constantly moving and motivating others to push further. His addition to the MP CrossFit family has been nothing short of exhilarating, bringing both fun and an infectious enthusiasm that enhances the experience for everyone at the gym. Jeff’s dedication and vibrant personality make him an exceptional athlete and an even more extraordinary teammate and friend!

    We asked Jeff the following questions so that you could get to know him better.

    1. When did you start your CrossFit journey and what made you pursue CrossFit?

    My first ever experience with any CrossFit was three years ago at Festivus Games. I didn’t know what the lifts were, so I had to Google them. I have been actively coming to MP CrossFit for about six months now.

    2. What is your favorite thing about MP CrossFit and why?

    My favorite thing about MP is a toss-up between the community at MP and the coaching. I just can’t overstate how much I appreciate the coaching. It really means a lot to me. All the people that I have met at MP CrossFit are so friendly and encouraging. Everyone remembers my name and I have always felt welcome.

    3. Congratulations on being a World Champion Hyrox athlete! How has your CrossFit training helped in the movements you do in your Hyrox races?

    CrossFit has helped me to hold myself at a higher standard on the Hyrox movements. My overall strength has improved since starting CrossFit, which is hard to believe given my age! I feel like I have more power, which is really helpful in Hyrox.

    4. What is your favorite CrossFit movement? What is your least favorite?

    My favorite movement is the squat clean. I’ve come so far with those, and while I still have a lot of work to do, I can get deeper in the hole than I ever thought possible. My least favorite is burpees. Those will always be my least favorite until the day I die!

    5. What is one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

    At 62 years young, I still ride skateboards, go to the skatepark to skate in the bowls!
